It seems like only a week or two ago, RoRo was just starting to put a couple of words together every now and then, making sentences like, "Card out," "Mama sit!" "Bird fly," "Daddy juice," and one of my favorites, "Mama help!"
Now he's putting together all kinds of strange phrases, like "Daddy shoes work car-car," "Mama juice RoRo hand," "Watch Heffalump Roo Mama see-it?" "Sit Mama popcorn juice," "Molly run uh-oh dirt!" "See-it duck quack-quack?" and the funniest so far, "Mama hand wash-it oh no!"
He sometimes will talk about things he's done or seen that day-- for instance "Saw baby" or "Saw boat" or "Yeah! Saw horse! Yeah!" or "RoRo slide, yeah."
He also understands and uses the phrase "Not for Baby!" when we're talking about something that is off-limits, like scissors or a hot oven. But yesterday we were playing ball outside, and he was racing me to see who would pick it up first. I got there before him, and he yelled, "Ball-ball NO! NOT for Mama!"
He also has some funny exclamations, now-- "Ho-tay!" is "Okay!" "Yeah-see!" is "Yes, sir!" and a few, like "But-chee-ba! But-chee-ba!" are a complete mystery.
