Today is Ro's half-birthday! He's a year and a half already! I took him to the Union and he got to see his Dadda and drink a V-8, both of which he seemed to enjoy completely. He would catch the eye of any passerby and point to Sujit and say "Da-da!" because to him, that's the most inmportant thing in the whole SUB!
He's come such a long way, and I can start to see little glimpses of the little boy he's growing into. He's extremely observant, and will watch a new situation for a while before jumping in. He's always concerned when he sees another kid having a hard time, and he can spot another child anywhere. He takes very good care of everyone around him, including his doggies-- he reminds me when it's time to give them their chew-chews and has started clicking his tongue to get them to come to him. He especially takes care of his Daddy, helping him off with his tie and coat at the end of the day. He can even play jokes-- he likes to show me a toy, then run off and hide it under a blanket or behind the curtains and ask me "Where did it go?" He laughs really hard when I "finally" find it, or sometimes he goes ahead and shows me how clever he was with this little gleam in his eyes. And he has a spectacular memory-- he remembers where toys are from days before, he remembers people he's only met once or twice, and he can tell you what's going to happen next in his favorite movies and books.
On one hand, I'm sad that he's growing up so fast, but it's been so fun so far I can't help but be excited about the next few months! Years! Decades...? Wow.
